Posted on: Friday, April 16, 2010

Toronto, ON (April 16, 2010) - You can catch Point Alliance, and other Lotus users across the country, at the upcoming IBM® Cross Country Lotus User Group Event held on Friday, April 23rd in Markham, ON. Point Alliance and their valued client, Lawyers' Professional Indemnity Company (LAWPRO®) are slated to share their experiences working together through a recent Domino upgrade project and the custom development of LAWPRO®’s new intranet website using content management solution, Launch Pad for Web (LP4W®).

Point Alliance will be sharing their experience of integrating business and technical requirements and processes used to complete the LAWPRO®’s Domino upgrade, as well as the challenges and methodology in leveraging LP4W® to custom develop an interactive intranet to meet LAWPRO®’s needs. LAWPRO® will be offering insight on the outcomes of the project, and how it has positively influenced their business. Point Alliance hopes to share these best practices with industry members in hopes that it will provide insightful knowledge to others undergoing similar projects.

Lotus users who are not in the Markham area need not worry about missing the event, as participants are expected to be virtually tuned in from various hosted locations across Canada. John Zarei, Chief Information Officer at Point Alliance believes that the concept of hosting a virtual User Group event simultaneously across the country is a great idea. “Gone are the days where you are limited to communicating with only those in your area. The Cross Country Lotus User Group is a great way for everyday Lotus users and IBM® Business Partners, such as ourselves, to hear about what others are doing across the country, and learn how we can use that information to improve our own organization.” Zarei explains, “It is very exciting for us to be participating in such a collaborative event like this one. We are looking forward to share our experiences and to see what we can learn from users across Canada.”

The Cross Country Lotus User Group event will be hosted in 6 different cities across Canada including Calgary, Markham, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, and Regina. This is the second year running for IBM®’s Cross Country Lotus User Group.
